Noah – Local Food

Noah Local Food makes it easy for the public to shop from local, small-scale food producers in their local area. The company is based in Norrbotten and currently works with about 40 producers to help them reach the market with their products. Almost There is proud to invest in Noah, sharing their vision of contributing to a vibrant countryside and increased self-sufficiency in Sweden.

Founded in 2019 with a passion for locally produced food and a desire to simplify trade for small-scale producers, Noah is today run by Malin Winsa and Ann Liljeholm as a wholesaler and marketplace enabling consumers and small-scale producers to meet, both in retail and online.

“Our drive is about making it easier for small producers to reach the market. It’s fantastic to work with something so important to society,” says Malin Winsa.

Through Noah, products from about 40 producers are sold, spanning a broad spectrum, from meat and dairy products to eggs, pasta, candy, and jams; all small-scale produced. For Noah, it’s not just about selling products – but about supporting local producers to grow and become sustainable businesses.

“I am proud that we can really see results. Small producers can increase their production thanks to Noah. Producers can work full-time with food instead of having it as a side job. It’s fantastic to see that we fill a gap in the market. It feels really valuable,” says Ann Liljeholm.

Today, Noah sells through its webshop, by collaborating with retail stores, as a wholesaler to local stores, and through cooperation with Luleå municipality. Through contracts with Luleå municipality, Noah has enabled deliveries of locally produced vegetables to schools and elderly care within the municipality, which strengthens the locally grown food supply.

The goal is to become the obvious choice for small-scale produced food, initially in Norrbotten and Västerbotten but eventually throughout Sweden and even internationally.

Support from Almost There In the spring of 2024, Almost There is investing in Noah to continue supporting the business and its planned expansion outside Norrbotten. In conjunction with the investment in Noah, Almost There plans to contribute by sharing networks and contacts and assisting with the expansion.

There are also common prospects for cooperation between Noah and the operations of Peetgården, a meeting place and food destination dating back to the 17th century, and Foodmaker, a sustainable catering business, which already exists within Almost There’s ecosystem of businesses.
